You've arrived at Confederation... welcome to the Dominion of Canada! Before you can travel back to 2010, the people of Confederate Canada need you to use your futuristic skills to make a Podcast so that your classmates will know what really happened.
With your partner(s), you will be creating a Podcast from the point of view of a Mother or Father of Confederation. Your character may be one of the Key Players of Confederation, or you may create your own.
Use what you have learned from the WebQuest to tell how your character experienced Confederation. Perhaps you are Sir John A. MacDonald, and you are settling in as Prime Minister, reflecting on your glory days. Maybe you are a Mother of Confederation from Newfoundland, angrily rejecting Confederation because your island has no use for a railroad. The options are endless - be creative, and have fun! You will have 2 periods to work on your Podcast.
Your Podcast must include the following:
Your character's name.
Where your character is from in British North America.
The setting. Is your character attending one of the Conferences? or has Confederation already happened? Tell your audience where you are, and what your surroundings are like.
What is your view on Confederation? Do you support it, or are you against it? Why?
How do you feel? Are you excited for the union of the colonies, or are you upset that your colony will not be participating?
What would you change about how Confederation was reached?
Name drop! If your opinions are the same as one of the Fathers of Confederation's, tell your audience. If you have opponents, let your listeners know.
